Frequently Asked Questions

How does Bloxivir work?

After applying on the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth and throat, Bloxivir creates a coating that constitutes a mechanical barrier for pathogens, and the substances contained in it: iota-carrageenan, sodium hyaluronate and ectoine inactivate them. Thus, Bloxivir protects against highly contagious viruses, alleviates the symptoms of infection and reduces its duration. Thus, it is both a way of prevention and a way of fighting viral infections of the upper respiratory tract, caused by influenza viruses and coronaviruses including SARS-CoV-2. The use of the product by infected persons (also asymptomatic patients), reduces the risk of infecting others.

How does Bloxivir protect me against Covid-19?

After the application on the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth and throat, Bloxivir creates a coating that constitutes a mechanical barrier for the virus of a coronavirus type, and the substances contained in it: iota-carrageenan, sodium hyaluronate and ectoine inactivate them. Will using Bloxivir protect me against Covid-19?

Bloxivir can be used both preventively and therapeutically. Preventive use of the product according to the method of use described in the instructions for use protects against the penetration of viruses into the body.

The device works directly at the site where viruses enter human cells. However, the likelihood of viral infection depends on individual factors and is higher if the mucous membrane of the nose or mouth is damaged or in the case of elderly people who suffer from dry mouth and nose. Covid-19 infection can also occur through the mucous membrane of the eyes.

The intended use of the product allows to improve the quality of life by preventing viral infections and mitigating their course. The product has bioadhesive properties and thus provides relief from symptoms of dryness in the nasal and oral mucosa, which results in its better functioning. Constant maintenance of good hydration of the nasal mucosa enables its efficient functioning as a natural protective barrier against pathogens and other external factors.   Therefore, the use of BLOXIVIR reduces the likelihood of Covid-19 infection but does not provide 100% protection due to individual factors.

Will using Bloxivir while having Covid make the course of the illness smoother?

The product alleviates symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections and supports treatment of those infected. If a person with Covid-19 has symptoms typical of upper respiratory tract infections such as nasal mucositis, rhinitis, runny nose, pharyngitis, dry throat then the use of Bloxivir will relieve the symptoms of the disease.
